Resource Libraries

LOCAL LIBRARY

Resource Libraries in EstimatorVJ are the ‘COST CONTROL CENTRE’ when used correctly. Think of them as large Lookup Tables.

Each resource required for the Project Estimate is defined in this Library, and every one of these resource’s details are maintained in the body of the estimate via this library.

The essential properties of each Resource are:

   •Code                            The key between entries in this library and the Estimate Worksheets for lookup

   •Cost Category              Labour/Material/Plant Hired/Plant Owned/Subcontract/...... Up to 12 can be self assigned at a Project Level

   •Description

   •Unit of Measure

   •Rate                              Direct entry for simple resources, ‘built up’ for Composite resources

   •Currency Name    }

   •Purchase Price    }        These are maintained in a separate lookup for FOREX Projects

   •Exchange Rate    }

   •Any other columns on an as needs basis

      e.g. Date Quoted, Who quoted, etc

EXTERNAL LIBRARIES

External Libraries are libraries maintained in other Projects, from which resources can be referenced as needed, and added to the Local Library. Thus, a Project’s Local Library may start off as empty, then built up by ‘calling in’ resources used on any other Project(s).
